During my recent stay at the Portland Hotel, I was captivated by the warm, welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff who made me feel right at home. Nestled along Scotland's stunning North Coast 500 route, this family-run hotel is an ideal base for exploring the breathtaking landscapes surrounding Brora. Each morning began with a delightful breakfast, showcasing a menu of classic Scottish fare, before we set out for adventurous days exploring the coastal beauty and perhaps indulging in a few drams of the local whiskies. The hotel also offers a remarkable range of over 150 single malts, which I thoroughly enjoyed sampling in the cozy lounge, perfectly paired with heartfelt conversations about wildlife conservation with fellow travelers. For those planning a day of exploration, the hotel is conveniently situated for venturing to the nearby Clynelish Distillery, while the scenic bay areas offer excellent opportunities for kayaking—just another reason to make the Portland Hotel your choice of stay in this idyllic region. I cannot wait to return!
